So why do I think you should get maternity photos done?
To put it bluntly - because you just should!
But seriously, I am so in love with maternity sessions, they are probably my favourite sessions to do! Women are incredible, to grow an entire human from scratch is nothing short of a miracle, so I do believe with every fibre in my body that it is absolutely a time to be celebrated and documented with beautiful, raw and real photos!!
I get it, your body changes, your boobs get huge, things fit you differently and you might not always feel comfortable or confident in your new body while you're growing a teeny human, but I am here to build you up, be your hype girl, give you the confidence to get in front of the camera and absolutely rock your session! I am all for everybody, no matter what size or shape your body is, no matter how big or small your bump is, it is beautiful and I am so determined to get you to see that too!
The photos I have put in this blog are from the beautiful Maddi's session! I first met Maddi when she was pregnant with her son, nearly five years ago, and I am so honoured that she asked me to photograph this pregnancy too, and at the same beach from her last session! She is a great example for this blog as she wore jeans, a dress and just her underwear too, all styled by herself and absolutely her choice. It just goes to show that you don't always need to wear a dress to your shoot. If that doesn't suit your normal style, then you do whatever you like! These are your photos to remember this time of your life, so you should absolutely do them your way!
Not only is it capturing your beautiful bump, you get those photos of you and your partner together before bub comes, you and your older kids before they become big brothers and sisters, a little snapshot into life just as it is before you meet the next love of your life!
I could go on and on about why I love maternity sessions, that is how passionate I am about capturing this time of your life! It isn't one size fits all, it can be whatever you like, just you alone, you and your partner, if you have older kids, bring them along. You can do a 45 minute session, or a 20 minute mini session, we can do them outside, through the day, or at sunset (my favourite) or you can come to my studio for a more raw and intimate session. I have an option for everyone, and if you have any ideas of your own, hit me up, I am literally open to anything!!!
I guess all there is to do now is enjoy these GORGEOUS photos and then book me asap for a shoot because now all your excuses are invalid and you just have to dive in and do it!!
**A little sidetone, this session was shot in the 45 minutes leading up to sunset, so if you love these photos as much as I do, and want them for yourself, the time of day has a lot to do with the final look and feel of the photos. Sunrise and sunset are my absolute favourite times of day to shoot outdoors!
